01 Jan 2026 - Happy New Year!!

New year, new me; or that's what I'd like to say, but when midnight ticked over I was still the same me as the minute before. I had already made my resolutions at the start of December, when I turned 24. At my friends' new year party we collectively filled out bingo cards of goals we wanted to complete by the end of 2026. Mine were all short and simple, and they might look a little too easy, but to me they are all actionable, measureable steps towards my greater goal: be more proactive.

I've spent too much time in the last few years consuming, and talking about creating, but hardly any time creating for real. The first thing I did in December was delete Instagram as well as block it on my phone internet browser. The second thing I did was sift through my subscribed YouTube channels and unsub from every channel that doesn't inspire me to get offline and do something else. I've been gradually working towards that throughout 2025, but I decided that I've been too lenient with myself.

Point being, new years resolutions are not something I put a lot of stock in. The best time to make a positive change was yesterday, but the second best time is today. Self-improvement is an ongoing process, it doesn't start on January 1st, it starts when you find the resolve to be better than you were yesterday.
